Here I bring my experience from Nursery to 10th, what I learnt in every class...
Nursery
Chill dude! You have only this year when you don't need to make any timetables or schedules for studying. You are free to do everything because for the rest of your life you will have to make books your best friends.
[Once I asked a nursery child to recite ABC..., his mother said,"No, let him live his life because after that, the education system is not gonna let him live.] 😮😂
LKG
...and that's the beginning of your school life. You are cute for everyone so no one will scold you much but if you don't know how to write 'A' or '1' then...😁
UKG
It's very similar to LKG, just the school timings change and you have the feel of a senior! Now you are elder to the LKG and nursery people.
1st
OMG! Full days of school start from here. In the first 2-3 months, you don't understand only what is going on. You are very happy to know that you have more subjects now instead of the three you had (English, Maths and drawing). You feel very knowledgeable, that, yes, I have more books now...I'll study and become a doctor! 😂
We graduated from Kindergarten! |
2nd
Ok...you start knowing what a school is, why you are here and why you have to wake up early in the morning. You start taking part in dance, etc. You see other children buttering the teachers.
3rd
And that's one where butter starts increasing. Heyy!! don't slip here. I found the science and SST of third grade quite interesting. You know what I experienced...in the limelight are only those...who stand near the teacher's table!!! 😂😂😂😂 (I am not joking). I still remember when my science teacher (she taught us science, SST and English altogether!) asked a question in class after she had scolded the whole class because everybody was shouting wildly after the last period's bell. Then...I...I...the only sole answerer, nidar, saahsi, 😂 stood up and answered her question. You know what she said then.................I can quote her exact same words..."Only one girl has a brain in the class?! Nobody else!".....Haaaa...what a taareef of me!
4th
And I started dancing here...I mean I started taking part in various activities in this class, especially dance and from here my love for dance arose. I believe you can find your talent in this class.
5th
This class was my favourite. So easy subjects and their content. The teachers...I miss them all a lot. Last year of being a junior...you are the senior of all the junior classes 😆. We had so many activities....just so many activities. It was such a good year for me. And now I am revealing a secret...😁...before the night of my 5th final exam results, I was so afraid, so afraid that I thought I'll not succeed this time...but...but...but...the next day when I went with my momma to collect my result (I was wearing all denim, I remember)...I was surprised...as soon as I entered the class, my class teacher rose from her chair and came to me with clapping hands...she said, "Congratulations Sargun! You are third in class, here is the badge, here is a gift (a key chain) and here is her report card mam." I was elated. I went out proudly!
6th
And here...aaahhhh!!! What is this! For some time, I couldn't understand only what happened...pencils to pens...scrapbooks to practical files...junior to senior. This is the foundation of your entire seniority!
Gradually, you mature and try to understand everything.
7th
You feel like you are the boss here because your teenage comes in. The hormones play their part and you become moody, rude and whatnot but...but...but...don't worry...you'll soon understand everything. You just need to control your mind here, that's all! You will feel "no one understands me, no one surmises what I want" but it's not like that. You are the same you were a few years back for your parents and everyone, how will they not understand what you want who brought gifts for you the entire life you spent till now? So calm down, my dear friend. [Physics was so, so, so interesting!]
8th
Uhmm...you came one more step ahead. Good! Now fix your aim. Find your interest. The years ahead are going to be very crucial for you but don't become a book worm. During this year, you'll "feel" yourself to be a "big person"...don't let that happen and try to retain your innocence and somewhat childish nature from the heart.
9th
Everybody said this class is tough...but I never realised it because I went with the flow. I must say, the History subject of 9th grade was so interesting, so fascinating that I decided to take either Humanities or Science Stream in 11th n 12th (because Science was and is my favourite). I even got full marks in this. And then you know, one more element enters - The Student Council. I was really keen to join it but when my name didn't come in the list, I was very disheartened, very disheartened...but as you all know...whatever happens, happens for our own good. It did happen! My passion for writing poems with feelings strengthened. I got to know how to express myself and 9th was also a turning point in my life. Teenage had shown its ugly effect of providing rudeness to me but then an angel came and changed my life. She was my teacher. She taught me the value of life. I always wondered "Why we come here if we have to die one day!" and she cleared all my doubts, all my doubts. At one time, I even became an atheist and challenged the existence of God but afterwards, this foolish person understood that it was God's plan only to make me believe in this driving force that operates the universe. (I'll be publishing another blog just about HUMAN EXISTENCE)
10th
Hoooo!! Board exams...so important for life...if I don't get good marks then? These are the thoughts, I am sure, which come to your mind when you come to 10th. You know I didn't even know about these board exams till 8th...I thought what are they...why is the whole population of 10th afraid from these 'petty' exams...but when I reached 9th, I understood why everyone was afraid...full syllabus + mark sheet which determines your future...from then I started hating the education system...why only one class' marks are taken for the future and what about the hardwork you did in the previous classes, is that all waste now? No, not at all, dear reader! The hardwork you did in the previous classes establishes your personality in front of others and 10th class and 10th marks do determine your future to some extent. First of all, you get to know what you are interested in. For instance, when I was in 10th, I loved English but History now became a bit boring but Civics was awesome so I thought of taking Arts and do a PhD in English and become a professor, then I also thought should I take Commerce stream because I want to do business also but then, after deep thinking for a few months, I apprehended that my true interest is "Science" because I loved Physics and Biology from the beginning (yes, not chemistry but I do love the reactions but not their equations (the only thing which made me hate chemistry)). I even enjoyed doing maths now. So I thought of opting for PCMB which I am happily studying now. You won't believe me, I don't feel like leaving my books at all! I love reading, studying and understanding about my world. Biology was always my favourite, then Physics and then chemistry. I always wished to know how things work, what is this thing made up of and how wonderfully the great artist, the great scientist, the great mathematician has designed this incredible universe. [Won't reveal my aim now! You can see when I become that - a Hint - It starts from "S"]
Now coming to why 10th marks are important. I never took 10th seriously, I am frankly saying that but you should not. Ok, at the end, I did get pushed because everyone in my class was rigorously doing preparing for the board exams three months before! So, thanks to them all! Then I got 97.2% and was happy and started with 11th more happily...but then what I saw! Many children could not get into their stream and field of interest due to less percentage in 10th. I felt so bad for them. The education system was trampling their abilities...but don't you worry...just understand and do everything...that is the key to success.
"Haaa! At last, it finished"...your reaction after reading this right? 😁
I thought of sharing my experience in the first post of "The Study Club" with you all so that you could gear up to encounter more such!
